CAFA Food Trust Traceability Platform Project

CAFA is a professional alliance established by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. CAFA focuses on the major demands of animal health and the quality and safety of meat, eggs, milk and aquatic products, and on the improvement of the scientific and technological innovation capacity and resource sharing of animal husbandry, veterinary medicine and food safety. It strives to solve the major technical problems involved in the food safety, and promotes the development of the whole supply chain from farm to the table.

Pain points

China is a major producer of livestock, poultry, and aquatic products. The per capita consumption of meat in China has reached the world average level. However, the situation of animal food safety risks remains severe, such as the lack of standardized regulations in the market for veterinary antibiotics and improper use of medication in feed production and farming processes, etc. These problems seriously endanger the quality and safety of animal products, undermining consumer confidence.

Project Contents

IQC support CAFA to establish the whole supply chain traceability operation model according to the actual situation of member enterprises with the latest traceability technology. Integrating the efficient and transparent concept, built the CAFA food trust traceability platform that covers from farming, production, transportation, sales to consumption of the whole supply chain. In the meantime, IQC provides systematic and professional guidance and training for CAFA members.

Project Achievements

IQC team has successfully support CAFA and its members achieve full traceability of food safety and quality management throughout the entire industry chain. The CAFA traceability platform serves as an endorsement of trust for enterprises that have obtained traceability recognition, enhancing consumer confidence in product. Traceable products are widely sold in Walmart, Carrefour, Hema, e-commerce platforms, etc., and have received numerous positive feedback.
