Dr. Xiao, a veterinary medicine doctor with over three decades of industry expertise, specializes in animal welfare standard training, standard development, and research projects. He provides technical support across a range of animal welfare projects, encompassing poultry and livestock projects.

His illustrious career spans multiple roles at various organizations. He has served as a Researcher at the Chinese Centre for Animal Health and Epidemiology, the Animal Welfare Country Contact for the WOAH (OIE), a Member of the Asia-Pacific Regional Strategic Advisory Group on Animal Welfare (RAWS AG), and an expert of the Food Technical Committee Animal Welfare Working Group (TC34/WG16) under the ISO.

Dr. Xiao has dedicated himself to farm animal welfare research. His notable contributions include leading and participating in the development of over 10 animal welfare standards. He has authored 23 books and published more than 40 academic papers.
